About the position

The System Administrator III (Microsoft Windows Server) position at People, Technology and Processes LLC is a critical role based at Maxwell Gunter Airforce Base, AL. This position requires a Secret clearance and involves a variety of responsibilities focused on the management and maintenance of Microsoft Windows Server systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and managing capacity and trending reports of system operations, ensuring that all systems are operating efficiently and effectively. This includes analyzing system requirements and performance metrics of both hardware and software systems, and developing recommendations to enhance overall system efficiency. In addition to these analytical tasks, the System Administrator will perform day-to-day troubleshooting and maintenance of Microsoft Windows Server and related servers. This includes conducting annual DISA STIGs compliance checks on all RHEL servers and related installed software. The role also requires timely communication with the Information Technical Equipment Custodian (ITEC) or Property Custodian (PC) regarding any accountable item moves, ensuring that all actions are documented in writing within a four-hour timeframe. Furthermore, the position entails the physical organization of system installations, including the neat bundling and concealment of excess system or peripheral cabling after each installation or repair. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity and performance of the IT infrastructure at the base, and it requires a proactive approach to system management and a strong understanding of Microsoft Windows Server environments.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and manages capacity and trending reports of system operations.
  • Analyzes system requirements and performance of hardware/software systems and develops/recommends specific measures to increase the overall efficiency of these systems.
  • Performs day to day troubleshooting and maintenance of Microsoft Windows Server and related servers.
  • Performs annual DISA STIGs compliance checks on all RHEL servers and related installed software.
  • Notifies appropriate Information Technical Equipment Custodian (ITEC) or Property Custodian (PC), in writing, within 4 hours for all accountable item moves.
  • Neatly bundles and conceals all excess system or peripheral cabling after each installation or repair.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 7+ years' experience with installs, tests, tunes, maintains, hardens, upgrades, patches, designs and documents supporting systems, utility programs, and monitoring tools for physical and virtual Microsoft Windows Server servers on both classified and unclassified networks.
  • Experience with system design, implementation, and support of core Windows server infrastructure/components in the environment, specifically; Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WINS, Certificate Services, AD Federation Services, Key Management Services, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).
  • Must possess a Secret Clearance.
