About the position

The System Administrator III position at MEC Distribution is focused on supporting the E-2 C/D COMS contract. The role requires a strong background in Cyber IT and Cybersecurity, with responsibilities including system administration, technical support, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity best practices. The incumbent will work closely with government personnel to maintain and enhance information system security and functionality.

Responsibilities

  • Support the E-2 C/D COMS contract as a System Administrator III.
  • Ensure compliance of information systems with cybersecurity best practices, guidelines, and policies.
  • Coordinate and prioritize efforts with various government personnel including SM/ASM, COR, ISEO, and ISSO.
  • Provide tracking and reporting to the Program Manager (PM), SM/ASM, and COR for all cybersecurity-related activities.
  • Assist in the configuration and sustainment of the DoD Host Based Security System (HBSS) and the DoD Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS).
  • Lead teams to resolve or mitigate information assurance (IA) problems quickly.
  • Support the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems, and software applications, ensuring integration with IA security requirements.
  • Monitor, test, and troubleshoot hardware and software IA problems.
  • Provide end-user support for all IA-related applications.
  • Conduct systems analysis and summarize data in technical documents for decision-makers.

Requirements

  • Must possess or be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Current certification in CISSP or equivalent and maintain necessary certifications with 40 hours of annual continuing education.
  • Possess applicable CE/OS Certifications and meet minimum credential requirements as per DoD 8570.01M.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years' experience in a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position, including customer service and technical support, data administration, and systems security analysis.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with networking equipment such as switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Familiarity with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and system patching.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with vulnerability scans and analysis.
  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity instructions and practices such as DoDI 8570.01-M and CJCSM 6510.01 series.
