About the position

The System Administrator role focuses on supporting Joint Mission Integration and Experimentation (JMIE) by managing and maintaining system administration tasks across Windows and UNIX/Linux platforms. The position requires a blend of technical skills in system and network administration, cybersecurity compliance, and documentation management, ensuring adherence to DoD policies and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in System Administration (Intermediate - Advanced) for Windows and UNIX/Linux systems.
  • Implementation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows and UNIX/Linux installations in accordance with DoD policies.
  • Basic network engineering knowledge, including design, installation, configuration, and maintenance of network infrastructure.
  • Troubleshooting technical issues on Windows and UNIX/Linux platforms, including administrative issues and bug fixes.
  • Executing patch management, including installation of security updates and reinforcement measures.
  • Advising on the design and implementation of a software and network infrastructure development environment.
  • Providing independent support for Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) Certification & Accreditation (C&A) processes.
  • Creating Risk Management Framework (RMF) submissions for new and existing systems.
  • Collecting and reviewing information security artifacts for C&A review.
  • Administering and managing IA Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA) and security Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) mitigations.
  • Preparing and maintaining security-related documentation.

Requirements

  • Six (6) years of relevant experience in system administration.
  • DoD approved IAT Level II Baseline Certification.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with six years of experience; Bachelor's Degree in a technical field is desired.
  • CompTIA Security + certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
  • Familiarization with cloud development environments such as Amazon Web Services (AWS).
