About the position

Peraton is seeking a System Administrator who will play a crucial role in the Production Support team, primarily responsible for supporting the payroll application and maintaining the production environment and payroll processing. The System Administrator will be tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, which includes coordination with network engineers to optimize system performance. This position requires a proactive approach to monitoring and managing system resources, such as CPU usage, disk usage, and response times, to maintain operational efficiency. In addition to these responsibilities, the System Administrator will perform various systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts. The role may also involve setting up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system-wide software, and allocating mass storage space. The System Administrator will interact with users to evaluate vendor products, make recommendations for hardware and software purchases, coordinate installations, and provide backup recovery solutions. Furthermore, the candidate will be responsible for developing and monitoring policies and standards related to the allocation and use of computing resources, ensuring that all systems operate within established guidelines and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers.
  • Monitor and manage system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency.

  • Set up administrator accounts and maintain system documentation.

Requirements

  • Must be US Citizen
  • Must have Public Trust Clearance
  • 0 years with BS/BA; 4 years no degree
  • Must have experience with the mainframe environment
  • Must have experience with JCL
  • Must have experience with Scheduling packages (Control-M, CA7/11, etc...)
