About the position

The Junior System Administrator role at Zachary Piper Solutions involves supporting a classified cyber security program. The position focuses on ensuring secure and reliable operations of enterprise computer systems, working both independently and as part of a small team. The administrator will be responsible for systems administration of various cyber tools and server systems, providing support for developmental and operational systems, and managing configurations across multiple classification domains.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate to develop innovative solutions for secure and reliable operations of enterprise computer systems.
  • Perform systems administration of cyber tools and server systems connected to networks across multiple classification domains.
  • Provide support for developmental and operational systems, including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution.
  • Configure and manage Windows, UNIX, and Linux systems, including installation of operating systems and application software.
  • Support Windows and Linux systems engineering efforts in system design, evaluation, and software development.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a systems administrator.
  • Experience with installing, configuring, or maintaining security tools such as Palo Alto Firewalls and Splunk.
  • Experience with automating deployments and configuration management.
  • Experience with Cloud services including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to take a polygraph exam.
  • DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II Certification.
  • DoD 8570.01-M Cyber Security Service Provider - Infrastructure Support Certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with operating and maintaining Microsoft Windows and Linux servers.
  • Experience as a network administrator or systems engineer.
  • Experience with tools like Gigamon, FireEye, and VMWare.
  • Experience with scripting in PowerShell and BASH.
  • Knowledge of Git and Atlassian tools, including Jira and Confluence.
