About the position

The position involves providing comprehensive support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of information technology (IT) systems. The role requires managing the IT system infrastructure and overseeing all processes related to these systems. The individual will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for various client/server/storage/network devices, as well as mobile devices. This includes providing Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support, identifying, diagnosing, and resolving problems effectively. The candidate will also be involved in escalating issues and communicating status updates to agency management and internal customers. In addition, the role requires configuring and managing UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems, installing and loading operating system software, troubleshooting, maintaining system integrity, and configuring network components. The individual will implement operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance, ensuring that all systems operate efficiently and effectively. The position is located on-site at the customer site in Annapolis Junction, MD, and requires a Top Secret SCI clearance with a polygraph. The candidate must be a U.S. citizen and possess a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience. Responsibilities

  • Provide support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Manage IT system infrastructure and related processes.
  • Support day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices.
  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support for problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
  • Communicate status updates to agency management and internal customers regarding escalated issues.
  • Configure and manage UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems.
  • Install and load operating system software, troubleshoot, and maintain system integrity.
  • Configure network components and implement operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university, or four (4) years of additional Systems Administration experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Fifteen (15) years of experience as a Systems Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Six (6) years of experience with Service Management (ITSM).
  • Four (4) years of experience with the ServiceNow platform.
  • Two (2) years of experience integrating ServiceNow with other applications.
  • ITIL 4 platform certification is required.
  • ServiceNow System Administrator certification is required.
  • One of the following DoD approved certifications to meet the category/level IAT-2: CCNA Security; CySA+; GICSP; GSEC; Security+ CE; CND; or SSCP.
