The position involves providing comprehensive support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of information technology (IT) systems. The role requires managing the IT system infrastructure and overseeing all processes related to these systems. The individual will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for various client/server/storage/network devices, as well as mobile devices. This includes providing Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support, identifying, diagnosing, and resolving problems effectively. The candidate will also be involved in escalating issues and communicating status updates to agency management and internal customers. In addition, the role requires configuring and managing UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems, installing and loading operating system software, troubleshooting, maintaining system integrity, and configuring network components. The individual will implement operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance, ensuring that all systems operate efficiently and effectively. The position is located on-site at the customer site in Annapolis Junction, MD, and requires a Top Secret SCI clearance with a polygraph. The candidate must be a U.S. citizen and possess a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
