About the position

As a System Administrator Level III at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in enhancing and securing IT systems that support national safety and security. This position involves providing technical support, managing system configurations, and ensuring compliance with security protocols, all while optimizing system performance and resource utilization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tiers 1 and 2 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems
  • Support implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems
  • Perform account management including establishing, activating, modifying, disabling, and removing accounts
  • Provide configuration management and ensure compliance with applicable system security controls
  • Conduct periodic vulnerability scans of systems
  • Support day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices
  • Implement IAVA security patches and record patch status in appropriate systems
  • Communicate status to agency management and internal customers regarding escalated issues
  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization, performing capacity analysis and planning
  • Troubleshoot IT systems and provide detailed analysis for escalated tickets
  • Support the dispatch system and hardware problem resolution
  • Configure and manage UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems, including installation and maintenance
  • Coordinate with the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and Information System Owner (ISO) regarding system changes
  • Complete required milestones of Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M) and coordinate status with the ISSO
  • Ensure IT Assets comply with Identity & Access Control Management (ICAM) policy
  • Support the design of systems and mission architecture
  • Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications, and software integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university or four (4) years of additional SA experience in lieu of a degree
  • Fifteen (15) years' experience as a System Administrator in similar programs and contracts
  • DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level III certification
  • Computing Environment (CE) Certification (Microsoft OS, Cent OS/Red Hat OS)
  • Six (6) years of experience with Service Management (ITSM)
  • ITIL 4 platform certification
  • Experience with Active Directory, Identity Management, SCCM, DNS, Group Policy, Active Role Servers, Privileged Account Management (PAM) Services, and MS Exchange
  • Experience with Trusted Thin Client and enhanced VDI (e.g., remote GPU and memory scaling) is required.
