About the position

The Linux System Administrator will be responsible for maintaining and managing over 200 Linux servers for an industry-leading OTT/IPTV video delivery and technology vendor. This role requires daily on-site work at the company's headquarters in White Plains, New York, and involves collaboration with off-shore teams, as well as independent work. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux systems administration and a basic understanding of Cisco networking.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage 200+ Linux servers, primarily on physical servers.
• Collaborate with off-shore teams and communicate effectively with team members.
• Perform basic tasks related to Cisco networking, including routing, switching, and firewalls.
• Provide basic desktop and end-user support as needed.
• Travel to nearby data centers as required.

Requirements

• 2+ years of Systems Administration experience in a Linux environment.
• Fundamental understanding of Cisco networking.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with off-shore teams.
• Ability to work on-site 5 days a week.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with virtual clusters, using Proxmox Virtual Environment or related tools.
• Experience with cloud-based Linux servers, ideally in AWS.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems such as Zoho or Jira.
