About the position

The System Administrator at AZAD Technology Partners will work within a high-security regional enterprise energy utility environment, focusing on the development, deployment, and maintenance of a large data analytics platform. This role encompasses the full life-cycle of system design, from concept to implementation, utilizing industry data management tools like Splunk. The individual will also support daily data security operations and facilitate security operations of the system, ensuring effective logging and alerting mechanisms are in place.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, deploy, and maintain a large data analytics platform for integrating data streams from multiple sources.
  • Capture requirements and assist in system design throughout the full life-cycle.
  • Implement data ingestion, data governance, and application decomposition.
  • Create dashboards and implement solutions in medium to large scale environments using industry data management tools.
  • Develop and deploy automated and custom alerts, reporting, and correlation in support of multiple missions.
  • Provide daily logging and facilitate security operations of the system.
  • Support day-to-day data security operations as a technical expert for log data analytics and visualization platform.
  • Design, implement, administer, and maintain the overall Splunk infrastructure.

Requirements

  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a directly-related technical discipline is preferred.
  • 8 years of experience in System Administration with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in applicable fields, or 10 years of progressive hands-on experience without a degree.
  • Direct work experience in Information Technology performing System Administration.
  • Experience with technologies such as Splunk, Remote Desktop Services, IIS, Wireshark, Trend Micro, Nessus, Ivanti, Puppet, and PowerShell.
  • Solid grasp of best practices as recommended by Splunk.
  • Experience in installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining Splunk applications and related software.
  • Experience with administration in both Linux and Windows operating systems, including command line interface proficiency.
  • Working knowledge of scripting languages (bash, python, or Perl), networking, system administration, databases, and analytical tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Change Management systems and ticketing management systems.
