About the position
The Systems Administrator position at The One 23 Group is a senior role focused on managing and securing cloud-based infrastructure components for clients in the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and Federal Civilian sectors. The role emphasizes a people-first culture and ethical principles while leveraging innovative technologies to enhance operational efficiency. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, deployment, and maintenance of various systems and applications, ensuring compliance with security standards and policies.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, configure, secure, monitor, and manage cloud-based infrastructure components across multiple providers.
- Install, configure, secure, upgrade, and maintain operating systems such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CENTOS, and Windows Server.
- Maintain enterprise-class web analytics platforms using PHP, MySQL, and Apache.
- Troubleshoot, document, and resolve complex system, network, and database issues.
- Perform regular system health checks and backups on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Evaluate and install security patches for applications and operating systems, maintaining logs of system issues and metrics.
- Maintain hardware and software inventory and manage software releases and upgrades.
- Create and manage application user accounts and access control following least privilege methodologies.
- Document actions necessary for obtaining and maintaining full Authority To Operate (ATO) system accreditation.
- Submit infrastructure provisioning requirements within Service+.
Requirements
- 10+ years of related field or work experience.
- Knowledge of the LINUX operating system.
- Experience with Windows Administration, including Active Directory and hardening Windows instances per DISA STIG.
- Proficiency in PowerShell and Bash Shell scripting.
- Experience with Group Policy Updates/Management and Users and Group Management.
- Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and cloud architecture, including EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, VPC, and IAM.
Nice-to-haves
- Relevant certifications in systems administration or cloud technologies.
