About the position

Leidos is seeking a Windows System Administrator to support the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Unified Cyber Situational Awareness (UCSA) program in Pensacola, FL. This full-time position involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and recovering mission-critical enterprise Windows systems, ensuring operational readiness for IT systems that support the Department of Defense (DoD).

Responsibilities

  • Build, install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot and repair computer workstations, servers and IT related peripherals.
  • Manage and maintain both physical and virtual Windows infrastructures including domain controllers, file servers, and Exchange email service.
  • Perform various system administration tasks including Active Directory management and the creation and maintenance of Group Policies.
  • Validate current security posture and perform configuration changes as required.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve technical problems/issues.
  • Leverage Group Policy Objects, SCAP tool and STIGs to maintain required infrastructure security levels.
  • Install and configure software, firmware, upgrades and security updates/patches for Windows operating systems.
  • Monitor system performance to support capacity planning and maintain systems according to best practices.
  • Utilize system error logs and diagnostics scans to troubleshoot and repair hardware and software problems.
  • Document and prioritize problems and develop viable resolutions to maintain operational readiness.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical and system design documentation for infrastructure library.
  • Assist in planning and implementing new hardware/software upgrades of IT infrastructure.
  • Provide support to Windows engineers for architecture design analysis and technology refresh planning.
  • Support examination, testing and deployment of operating systems and software patches/updates.
  • Provide recommendations to onsite leads on compliance with information system security procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in a technical discipline and 3 years experience (can be waived with approval).
  • 3-5 years experience in support of Microsoft Windows desktops and servers (Windows 10, Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019).
  • Must be a US Citizen with Secret clearance required.
  • A DoD 8570 IAT Level II approved certification (CompTIA Security+).
  • Cybersecurity knowledge and Windows server administration experience.
  • Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
  • Knowledgeable in implementation of STIGs to secure Windows operating systems.
  • Experience deploying Windows workstations/servers and migrating end-user data.
  • Experience with operating system cloning applications and techniques.
  • Understanding of network services related to Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Experience performing analysis and security scans of operating systems using SCAP and STIG Viewer tools.
  • Experience with supporting desktop workstation hardware and peripherals.
  • Strong customer interaction skills and effective communication.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience creating PowerShell scripts.
  • VMware vCenter and VMware ESXi experience.
  • Familiarity with RedHat Systems Administration.
  • Experience with Agile work management applications, such as JIRA.
  • AWS Certified Practitioner certification.
