About the position

As a System Administrator at Tutor Perini Corporation, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the availability, performance, and scalability of client-facing applications within the data center. This position requires a proactive approach to managing and maintaining various systems and services, including Active Directory, Group Policy elements, enterprise storage solutions, and the corporate Exchange server. You will also be responsible for administering the cloud file-sharing platform and its integration with network file shares, ensuring seamless access and security for users. In addition to managing desktop applications and security updates through Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and MS Intune, you will perform necessary security updates on Windows Servers and desktops. The role involves after-hours operating system updates and maintenance to minimize disruption during business hours. You will manage and configure virtualized environments using VMware, Hyper-V, and Citrix, ensuring optimal performance and resource allocation. A key aspect of your responsibilities will be to proactively monitor systems, troubleshoot issues, and diagnose problems to minimize downtime. You will ensure the highest level of system and data security, which includes managing user access, remote access, email protection, web security, and physical security of the data center. Additionally, you will maintain the disaster recovery infrastructure, including backups and snapshots, to ensure business continuity in the event of localized failures, and conduct regular tests of failover and recovery protocols. Your role will also involve assisting with technology planning to support the organization's strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage availability, performance, and scalability of client-facing applications in the data center
  • Manage and maintain Active Directory and Group Policy elements, enterprise storage (SAN), enterprise backups, offsite storage, and the corporate Exchange server
  • Administer the cloud file-sharing platform and integration with network file shares
  • Perform security updates on Windows Servers and desktops
  • Manage desktops, applications, and security updates utilizing Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and MS Intune
  • Perform after-hours operating system updates and maintenance
  • Manage and configure VMware, Hyper-V, and Citrix virtualized environments
  • Proactively monitor and perform troubleshooting to diagnose and isolate computer systems problems and minimize downtime
  • Ensure the highest level of system and data security, including user access, remote access, email protection, web security, and data center physical security
  • Maintain the disaster recovery infrastructure, including backups and snapshots, to ensure business continuity in the event of a localized failure, including regular tests of fail-over and recovery protocols
  • Assist with technology planning

Requirements

  • 5+ years of system administration experience
  • 3+ years experience troubleshooting, operating, and maintaining endpoint security such as malware detection and mitigation
  • Experience in a Large Enterprise and/or Construction environment is strongly preferred
  • Expert knowledge of virtualization technology and concepts
  • Demonstrated experience with Windows operating systems to include Windows 10 and 11, Server 2012, Server 2016, Server 2019, and future versions
