About the position

The System Administrator I is an entry-level role focused on the operation and support of enterprise software systems and their related application infrastructure. This position requires supervision but also allows for independent work. The individual ensures that software systems, business data, and related procedures align with organizational standards and goals, serving as an escalation point for IT Support and business teams.

Responsibilities

  • Administers corporate software systems and the related infrastructure
  • Monitors corporate software systems and the related infrastructure
  • Implements improvements to corporate software systems and the related infrastructure
  • Assists with system issues, support requests, projects, and improvement tasks
  • Contributes to peer knowledge-sharing and process improvement
  • Creates and maintains systems documentation

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • 0 - 1 year work-related experience
  • Experience administering all modern versions of Microsoft Server with some supervision
  • Working knowledge of all modern versions of IIS, web servers, and Windows services
  • Working knowledge of server administration in a Cloud and VM environment
  • Working knowledge of enterprise networking (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, FTP, DMZ, Active Directory, SSL/TLS)
  • Working knowledge of validating and executing basic Microsoft SQL Server queries
  • Understanding of file system security permissions

Nice-to-haves

  • Linux experience is a plus
  • Apache experience is a plus
  • Experience with system monitoring and troubleshooting resources (e.g., Solarwinds, SOAPSonar, ProcMon) is a plus
  • Ability to read and write basic code (e.g., javascript, c#, powershell) is a plus
