The Computer Science Department at Stanford University is seeking a System Administrator who will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of operating systems and applications. This position requires a Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will have experience with multiple operating systems, managing integrated computing environments, and extensive programming knowledge. You will also need to demonstrate your ability to work independently and as part of a team, as well as your capability to train others in applications and operating system fundamentals. The role may involve physical demands such as desk-based computer tasks, occasional lifting, and exposure to high voltage electricity and noise, requiring a commitment to safety and compliance with university policies.
