About the position

The Systems Administrator for The Threats, Targets for Testing and Training Systems (4TS) program will play a crucial role in supporting the Threat Systems Management Office's (TSMO) Maximo and Configuration Management Systems (CMS) software applications and systems. This position is based in Indianapolis, IN, and operates in a hybrid work environment, allowing for 40% remote work. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in system administration across various platforms, including Windows, Linux, SQL Server, IBM Maximo, and WebSphere. The role requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting, updating, and maintaining systems to ensure optimal performance and security. In this position, the Systems Administrator will lead the administration and optimization of the Maximo application, focusing on system configurations, customizations, and enhancements. The candidate will coordinate deployment and maintenance schedules, ensuring that upgrades and patches are executed efficiently to maintain system scalability, stability, and security while minimizing downtime. Daily responsibilities will include performing backup operations, ensuring that all necessary file systems and system data are backed up appropriately, and managing recovery processes as needed. Collaboration is key in this role, as the Systems Administrator will work closely with team members to capture and define system requirements, develop solutions, and align system capabilities with organizational objectives. The candidate will also provide technical expertise to resolve complex system, performance, and integration issues, while staying informed about emerging trends and technologies in the Maximo industry to drive innovation and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the administration and optimization of the Maximo application, including system configurations, customizations, and enhancements.
  • Coordinate deployment and maintenance schedules, upgrades, and patches of the system to ensure scalability, stability, and security while minimizing downtime.
  • Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media.
  • Work closely with team members to capture and define system requirements, develop solutions, and align system capabilities with organizational objectives.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to resolve complex system, performance, and/or integration issues.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate, plan, and implement system improvements and new functionalities.
  • Stay abreast of emerging Maximo industry trends, technologies, and standard methodologies to drive innovation and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive technical (hands-on) experience in Windows administration.
  • Proficiency in IBM Maximo, IBM Websphere, IBM HTTP Servers (Client), MS Internet Information Services (IIS), and MS SQL Server systems administration.
  • Proficiency in implementing and managing SSL.
  • Proficiency with patching, updating and configuring Windows systems.
  • Proficient in File Share configuration and mount points.
  • Can manage Windows domain services (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO, etc.).
  • Experience with networking (switch management and configuration, managing and setting up VLANs, subnetting, etc.).
  • Experience with device imaging (Linux & Windows).
  • Familiar with reverse proxies, and RD and SSH Gateways.
  • Experience with configuring and managing storage solutions (SANs & NASs, Fiber channel, switches).
  • Proficient configuring and managing virtual environments.
  • Understanding and proficiency in implementing and maintaining system security (Applying STIGs, general hardening, vulnerability scanning).
  • Experience with obtaining and maintaining Authorization To Operate (Client).
  • Experience with planning and designing hardware architecture and system design.
  • End point device management experience.
  • Capable of scripting (Bash, PowerShell) and familiar with various programming languages.
  • Experience configuring and managing software development containerization, automation, and analysis tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency with patching, updating, and configuring Linux.
  • Experience working in or managing the systems of a SOC.
  • Experience with multi-level security solutions.
  • Background in Systems Engineering and Software Engineering practices.
  • ACTIVE Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain additional program-level special clearances.
  • Experience with commercial-off-the-shelf security technologies and trusted products.
