About the position

The System Administrator is responsible for managing, monitoring, and upgrading server infrastructure to ensure high levels of availability and security for business applications. This role involves implementing policies and procedures for system provisioning and maintenance, aligning with company goals and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to users requiring assistance with technology issues via phone and ticket system
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain components of server infrastructure
  • Develop and maintain technical process and procedure documentation
  • Research, document, and implement new technology solutions
  • Ensure application availability by monitoring hardware and software capacity and function
  • Monitor and respond appropriately to incidents, outages, and alerts, escalating issues as needed
  • Support and improve VMware vSphere and SAN environment
  • Support and improve backup operations, disaster recovery, and business continuity
  • Work extended hours as necessary to maintain existing or implement new technology with minimal customer impact
  • Ensure device inventory is kept accurate and up-to-date
  • Participate in on-call activities
  • Travel occasionally, including overnights
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

  • Associates degree in related field with 2 years or more relevant experience
  • Extensive knowledge of enterprise computer systems, including VMWare vSphere / ESXi, SAN, enterprise backup solutions, Cisco UCS, and LAN/WAN
  • Extensive knowledge of operational technologies, including Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, print server, encryption, DFS/DFSR, DNS, DHCP
  • Extensive experience with Windows Server management
  • Experience with IaaS solutions including Azure and AWS
  • Working knowledge of Windows scripting / PowerShell
  • Great customer service, organizational, interpersonal, and written / verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to multi-task, troubleshoot, and learn new technologies
