About the position

The Systems Administrator position at Systems Engineering Solutions Corporation is focused on managing, maintaining, and supporting the IT infrastructure and systems for a document scanning operation. This role is crucial for ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of information systems that support core organizational functions, particularly in the context of converting historical media archives into a digital format for the IRS.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software, and hardware for laptops and servers.
  • Monitor and manage database infrastructure including servers and network storage.
  • Monitor and manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect data and systems from unauthorized access and cyber threats, performing audits in accordance with SES ISO27001 standards.
  • Assist with joggers, database maintenance, clearing jams, and coordinating vendor support.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.
  • Develop and manage backup and recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users, addressing their IT-related needs and issues.
  • Log and close all technical incidents, maintaining detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in systems administration.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Able to maintain confidential information.
  • Successfully pass and maintain acceptable background checks and security clearances.
  • Proven systems administration experience.
  • Field experience supporting end-users with infrastructure and peripherals (Servers, Laptops, Scanners, Barcode Readers, Printers).
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune and Entra ID.
  • Experience performing relational database server maintenance, performing queries, and quiescing workloads, preferably using Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Using PowerShell, loading modules, and generating basic reports.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with C# is a plus, but not required.
