The System Analyst PACS will be responsible for providing a blend of analytical and technical understanding and expertise necessary to support, develop, and implement functions that affect the overall performance and quality of the Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS) and Cardiology Picture Archive and Communication (CPACS). This role assumes day-to-day accountability for the operation, support, and integrity of the RIS, PACS, CPACS, and other systems as they relate to medical imaging for Mercyhealth, including image workflow, archiving, and other related activities. The PACS System Analyst will be cross-trained in moderate to complex RIS, CPACS, and PACS support, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the systems involved. The System Analyst PACS requires process and application expertise and strong leadership skills to work with key personnel, end users, clinicians, and project team members to maintain high-quality standards for the Radiology and Cardiology Information Systems. This includes maintaining area-specific applications such as those used within Mammography, Echos, Ultrasound, and Cardiology. The role ensures proper operation of DICOM digital image data transfer into the PACS and CPACS from all radiology and cardiology modalities, maintaining the PACS user accounts database, and utilizing the PACS administration software to maintain and update all application tables. Additionally, the System Analyst PACS is responsible for maintaining and supporting the technical integration, as well as associated workflow processes related to the EMR applications. This includes integrating RIS, PACS, and CPACS into the clinical and business operations of the company. The analyst will develop and implement testing programs to ensure reliability of computerized procedures in compliance with federal regulations, prepare and maintain applicable records and archives of database changes and validation, and evaluate and test all changes to programs and procedures. The role also involves assisting with the development of operating standards, policies, and procedures, including downtime events, and reviewing feedback from Radiology Staff, Radiologists, Referring Physicians, and other related staff to recommend procedural and educational changes as appropriate.
