About the position

The System Analyst for Revenue Cycle at Baton Rouge General is responsible for providing comprehensive software support to internal customers, focusing on the Epic system and its associated subsystems. This role involves managing and prioritizing the maintenance, upgrading, and efficient use of applicable software systems. The analyst will act as the primary support contact for end-users, identifying and resolving issues that arise within their application area and those that impact other application teams. This position requires a proactive approach to workflow design, system building, testing, and troubleshooting technical issues related to Epic software. In addition to technical support, the System Analyst will serve as a liaison between end users' workflow needs and the Epic implementation staff, ensuring that the system aligns with the organization's business requirements. Regular communication with Epic representatives is essential, including participation in weekly project team meetings to discuss project deliverables and timelines. The analyst will also develop an understanding of operational needs through site visits and integrated sessions, participate in training, and maintain ongoing communication with team members regarding project status, budget, and milestones. The role emphasizes adherence to corporate compliance, personal achievement, performance improvement, cost management, and patient and employee safety. The analyst is expected to demonstrate work excellence values, maintain accurate records, and uphold ethical standards while actively participating in quality improvement initiatives and effectively managing resources.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary support contact for the application's end-users.
  • Identify issues that arise in their application area and work to resolve them.
  • Guide workflow design, build, and test the system, analyzing technical issues associated with Epic software.
  • Identify and implement requested changes to the system.
  • Serve as a liaison between end users' workflow needs and Epic implementation staff.
  • Maintain regular communication with Epic representatives, participating in weekly project team meetings.
  • Work with Epic representatives, the organization's business community, and end users to ensure the system meets business needs regarding project deliverables and timeline.
  • Develop an understanding of operational needs to set the direction for the organization's workflows by attending site visits and integrated sessions.
  • Participate in training and work with end users.
  • Troubleshoot problems and questions related to the system.
  • Review the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership.
  • Hold weekly communications with team members to discuss the status of deliverables, shared issues, end-user concerns, budget, and upcoming milestones.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology strongly preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Experience with personal computers (2-3 years) including email and internet usage.
  • PC hardware troubleshooting experience is helpful.
  • In-depth knowledge of the software through training at Epic and completion of application certification projects and tests.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to all applicable HIPAA regulations appropriate to the job position.
