About the position

The System Analyst 1, Revenue Cycle position at Mercyhealth is responsible for supporting and maintaining software applications that impact Revenue Cycle, Patient Access, Finance, and other business-related areas. This role involves providing analytical and application support in planning, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of business operations, with a focus on enhancing workflows and software utilization.

Responsibilities

• Performs application table maintenance as needed in support of requested changes.
• Updates and maintains required documentation and issues lists.
• Provides phone support and routine business unit visits to discuss pending issues.
• Understands computer system functionality, limitations, and architecture of supported applications.
• Participates in various operational meetings to analyze current procedures and workflows, identify problems, and make recommendations.
• Suggests and configures systems to more effectively utilize software applications to improve production or workflow.
• Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to supported software applications.
• Assists in implementing upgrades, including testing of software applications.
• Assists educators in the development and delivery of training and documentation for new software releases.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business, or other related field preferred.
• Required to achieve assigned Computer Application certifications within 90 days of training and to maintain assigned certification while in this role.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Epic Grand Central and/or Prelude certification or experience.
• Previous experience with Hospital Registration, Admission, Discharge, and/or Transfer workflows.
