About the position

The System Application Administrator is responsible for the long-term maintenance and support of assigned applications, including related servers, appliances, and devices. This role requires the individual to become a subject matter expert (SME) on behalf of the system owner, providing user support for daily business processes and managing user access, application configuration, security, and uptime. The administrator will also monitor vendor communications, test upgrades, assist with system integrations, and ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide user support for daily business processes and procedures related to assigned systems.
  • Manage user access and general application configuration, security, and uptime.
  • Monitor vendor communications for updates to the application.
  • Test and evaluate upgrades and new functionality.
  • Assist other system administrators with system integrations and customizations.
  • Monitor and report on assigned systems, including critical response, which may include after hours.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external policies, procedures, and regulations, including vulnerability management and disaster recovery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, business administration, or related technical field, or minimum of one year of systems implementation and support work experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of application implementations and user support.
  • Ability to troubleshoot assigned application(s).
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
  • Skill in requirements gathering, minor project management, and change management, including the ability to meet project deadlines and communicate effectively (orally or written).
  • Maintain effective working relationships with subordinates, peers, supervisors, vendors, and contractors.

Nice-to-haves

  • Applicable experience with other FinTech systems in a Systems Administrator role (vendors include Tibco, Sage, Fiserv, AMAG).
  • Three or more years of systems implementation and support work experience.
