About the position

The System Application Engineer position at Schneider Electric is designed for individuals early in their careers, including recent college graduates. This role focuses on providing high-quality engineering designs and software support for HVAC and access/security applications, as well as participating in the design, installation, startup, commissioning, and servicing of building automation control and facility management systems. The position emphasizes collaboration within a project team to ensure successful system commissioning and includes responsibilities such as controls programming and creating user interfaces for building automation systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality engineering designs per specifications, standards, budgets, and schedules.
  • Provide central software support for HVAC and access/security critical applications.
  • Participate in the design, installation, startup, commissioning, and servicing of building automation control and facility management systems.
  • Perform controls programming for BAS systems, including Function Block and Script, and create intuitive graphical user interfaces.
  • Visit job sites for startup, checkout, commissioning, and systems programming.
  • Validate, troubleshoot, and document point-to-point checkout of field devices, controllers, and equipment.
  • Follow established written standards and procedures for software development, communication, and documentation.
  • Communicate project progress, roadblocks, and solutions clearly and concisely.
  • Interpret project sequences of operations and create controller code to implement them.
  • Work with project team members and contractors to ensure successful system commissioning.
  • Provide training on customer sites or at the training center as requested.

Requirements

  • 2 years of Building Automation experience or understanding.
  • Engineering schooling or working knowledge.
