As a System Application Engineer at Cisco, you will be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge next-generation high-speed interconnects for deployment in data centers globally. This role is pivotal in supporting both internal and external customers with all requests related to Silicon One high-speed interfaces, which includes the development of new features and addressing bug fixes. You will engage in a variety of tasks that are essential for the successful integration and performance of high-speed interconnect devices. Your responsibilities will include developing and executing electrical characterization testing for high-speed interconnect devices, ensuring that they meet the required specifications and performance standards. You will also support the characterization, validation, compliance, and system integration of Silicon One devices, working closely with various teams including ASIC, system, and signal integrity teams to evaluate design trade-offs and optimize design solutions. This collaborative effort will involve reviewing signal integrity and power integrity designs to ensure the highest quality of the final product. In addition to these technical responsibilities, you will be tasked with developing automation and analysis tools for lab measurements and data processing, utilizing programming languages such as Python and/or Matlab. You will drive methodology development, establishing best practices for Cisco's high-speed solutions and platforms to effectively handle different system cases. This role may also require travel to customer sites as needed, providing you with the opportunity to engage directly with clients and understand their needs better.
