The System Applications Engineer will play a crucial role in providing equipment designs, component selections, and performance information to support potential sales. This position involves guiding equipment orders through the pre-sale process until production release, ensuring that all technical requirements are met and that the sales team is well-equipped to address customer needs. The engineer will also be responsible for providing training and direction to enhance the technical skills within the Application Engineering group, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing. In this role, the engineer will provide pre-sale technical support to the sales team, helping customers review, understand, and develop their technical requirements. This includes analyzing and determining the necessary engineering configurations and changes to fulfill customer specifications for equipment. The engineer will review final equipment proposals for technical validity, ensuring that the overall solution design meets both customer and company standards. Additionally, the engineer will provide technical planning and project management for assigned projects, representing the customer's interests throughout the applications and manufacturing processes. The position also requires the engineer to provide costing estimates for special features and components needed for specific projects, coordinate the generation of submittal documentation, and assist with the definition and implementation of customer witness testing when required. The engineer will develop skills to provide energy analysis and other total cost of ownership metrics for projects that necessitate such evaluations. Furthermore, the engineer will guide the training of Applications Engineers, reviewing their work and providing input for their skill development in unit design.
