About the position

The System Chief People Officer (CPO) at Billings Clinic and Logan Health is a pivotal role responsible for advancing and championing the mission, vision, and values of the health system. As a key member of the executive team, the CPO creates and leads the people resources strategy in alignment with the system's strategic plan across all locations. This position requires authentic leadership, engaging and collaborating with stakeholders to foster a culture of engagement and commitment to service excellence. The CPO articulates human resource needs in response to industry trends, ensuring that progressive and sound human resources practices are implemented throughout the system. The CPO oversees all employee lifecycle functions, including recruitment, compensation and benefits, organizational and talent development, employee and labor relations, and cultural inclusion programs. This role advocates for innovative technology solutions to leverage the skills of personnel and ensures the implementation of advanced human resource technology to support leadership and staff. The CPO is expected to lead transformational change, enhance organizational culture, and improve performance across the health system. Candidates for this role must possess a strong background in healthcare human resources and organizational development, with a minimum of ten years of executive leadership experience in a large, complex, multi-site healthcare organization. The CPO will be instrumental in integrating human resources functions, including compensation, benefits, policies, and employee relations, to create a cohesive and effective workforce. Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills are essential, as is the ability to engage with diverse audiences, including the board, executive leadership, and staff.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of executive human resources leadership experience in a healthcare organization.
  • Strong background in healthcare human resources and organizational development.
  • Experience with integration of healthcare organizations and human resources functions.
  • Demonstrated history of improving performance and leading transformational change.
  • Strong business acumen and successful management of human resources.
  • Experience in creating a culture of engagement and development linked to organizational performance.
  • Excellent leadership and team building skills.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, and planning skills.
  • Ability to interact with diverse audiences including board members and executive leadership.
  • Excellent organizational skills and critical thinking abilities.
