About the position

Cohere is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to provide comprehensive IT-focused lifecycle support across the enterprise. This role involves collaboration with development teams, integration of software and hardware, and ensuring efficient operations of systems. The engineer will also be responsible for monitoring system health, developing automation frameworks, and implementing disaster recovery strategies, contributing to the security and efficiency of the infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a development team to accomplish established goals
  • Work with internal and external teams to understand integration requirements
  • Create and maintain documentation for procedures, configurations, and programs
  • Serve as a Software/Application Integrator, Implementor, and Tester
  • Ensure software and hardware are operating and running efficiently
  • Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers
  • Monitor system health and service performance, troubleshooting and debugging servers
  • Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies
  • Design, develop, and implement infrastructure monitoring and reporting tools
  • Create test automation frameworks in collaboration with team members
  • Develop processes to increase functionality and efficiency of available infrastructure
  • Design and code software solutions to automate manual processes

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI w/ Poly
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution
  • 8+ years of relevant experience
  • 5-10+ years of IC Enterprise support and hands-on technical/strategic experience in at least three of the following areas: Software Engineering (Java), Infrastructure (Cloud and On-Prem), Business Intelligence/Big Data/Data Science, ITSM
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services
  • Experience with Azure
  • Proficiency in Python framework and Shell scripting
  • Experience with Linux distributions: RedHat, CentOS
  • Experience with one or more JavaScript Frameworks (React, Angular, JQuery)
  • Experience in Serverless and Microservice development
  • Experience with Container technology
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role supporting a government enterprise IT environment
  • Experience defining measurable metrics to monitor progress
