About the position

The System Coordinator (Information Systems Specialist 5) position at the Department of Consumer & Business Services is responsible for providing comprehensive IT services to the agency, including software and hardware configuration, user support, telecommunications, and training. This role supports multiple offices across the state and involves maintaining approximately 100 PCs, troubleshooting complex issues, and presenting training to staff. The position is integral to ensuring efficient operations within the Workers' Compensation Board, contributing to the agency's mission of protecting and serving Oregon's consumers and workers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to three staffed and four remote offices throughout the state.
  • Be responsible for approximately 100 PCs and their peripherals.
  • Coordinate the maintenance, planning, coordination, and implementation of data processing hardware and software requirements.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot to resolve complex problems with hardware and software.
  • Present training to staff on current and new systems.
  • Review new developments in judicial software and hardware products to determine feasibility for procurement and installation.

Requirements

  • Four (4) years of information systems experience in system construction and maintenance, system support, business analysis, and data administration.
  • An associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field AND two (2) years of information systems experience in system construction and maintenance, system support, business analysis, and data administration.
  • A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Knowledge of personal computer concepts, capabilities, and components.
  • Skill in diagnosing and devising solutions to system hardware/software problems.
  • Skill in network management.
  • Experience with multiple software applications.
  • Experience creating interactive forms and templates.
  • Multi-line telephone system administration experience.
  • Web coding experience and design.
