About the position

The Systems Design Integration Engineer will play a crucial role in the JSF LiftSystem® program at Rolls-Royce, focusing on resolving complex fleet issues, defining requirements, and integrating tests and products. This position is ideal for engineers looking to expand their technical expertise and gain leadership experience in high-impact projects. The role allows for a hybrid work environment, combining remote work with in-office time as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and influence interdisciplinary teams to solve complex problems and deliver system solutions at the whole engine level.
  • Utilize system integration and modeling tools to define and optimize whole engine design and integration.
  • Coordinate activities across stakeholders to manage interdependencies between subsystems and meet requirements.
  • Build and assess systems engineering and architecture models to conduct technical assessments and inform key technical decisions.
  • Represent the propulsion systems function to customers and provide technical support throughout all design phases.
  • Progress systems through gated reviews and support or lead risk assessments, flight clearance reviews, safety reviews, and product certification.

Requirements

  • An Associate Degree in Engineering with 4+ years of related experience OR a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 2+ years of related experience OR a Master's degree in Engineering.
  • Experience with modeling software such as NX, setting test requirements, and post-processing of data.
  • Experience with requirements management.
  • Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience with analytical software similar to ANSYS.
  • Programming skills in Visual Basic, Matlab, Python, PERL, or C++.
  • Experience with control system hardware or performance methods/tools.
  • Strong analytical ability to address challenging engineering problems and determine root causes and corrective actions.
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment and willingness to take initiative.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate work with other groups and drive tasks to completion on schedule.
