About the position

The System Director, HR Business Partner at Memorial Health System is a strategic leadership role focused on driving talent retention, attraction, and development within the organization. This position involves leading the HR Business Partners function, setting a vision for world-class HR support, and acting as a change champion for HR initiatives. The director will oversee advising services to achieve strategic goals and enhance employee engagement, while also mentoring and developing the HR team to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Leads, directs, and guides the HR Business Partner team to support HR and Memorial Health System plans and strategies.
  • Provides mentorship and ongoing performance feedback to foster a collaborative, high-performing work environment.
  • Coaches and develops colleagues to their fullest potential, providing educational and developmental opportunities as needed.
  • Defines roles, responsibilities, and services of HR Business Partners and aligns their assignments with business needs.
  • Drives HR transformation across the Memorial Health System, collaborating with leadership as a strategic thought partner.
  • Partners with key HR COEs to inform the design and facilitate local execution of talent management processes.
  • Proactively communicates information and updates to the HR Business Partner team.
  • Supports select business areas as the assigned HR Business Partner, modeling strategic advising and change management capabilities.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through continuing education and professional affiliations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, healthcare administration, or related field is required.
  • Master's degree in business administration or related field is preferred.
  • Professional human resources certification(s), i.e., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-SCP is preferred.
  • Seven or more years of human resources or related work experience required; experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Minimum of five years' progressive experience as an HR Business Partner or similar role.
  • Proven experience in driving leadership adoption of transformative HR initiatives and building high-performing HR teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of state and federal employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
