About the position

The System Electrical Engineer - Audio will be part of a dynamic engineering team focused on developing future iPhone products. This role involves designing, implementing, and integrating various analog function blocks and subsystems, including power, audio, battery management, and sensors. The engineer will collaborate with multiple internal teams and external partners throughout different development stages, making it a pivotal position in the product development process.

Responsibilities

• Work with multi-functional teams on systems level designs including system integration, schematic and layout reviews.
• Provide manufacturing and production test support, systems validation, and troubleshooting.
• Perform hardware prototyping and demonstrations.
• Collaborate with IC vendors through the custom silicon design cycle, including design review, bring up, bench characterization, and bug tracking.

Requirements

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years of overall experience in the industry.
• Strong analog/mixed-signal fundamentals, including noise, linearity, and signal integrity in mixed-signal systems.
• Deep understanding of mixed-signal building blocks such as PMIC, speaker amplifiers, codecs, microphones, op-amps, ADCs, DACs, sensors, and chargers.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with low-power electronics, sensors, and sensor-interface circuits.
• Experience in prototyping, characterization, and debugging of mixed-signal hardware.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with both verbal and written communications.
• Experience with digital interfaces such as I2C, SPI, I2S, PDM, etc.
• Experience with programming languages such as Matlab and Python.
