The Unified Communications Specialist will play a pivotal role in leading the migration and adoption of Microsoft Teams as the primary unified communications platform within the organization. This position requires a deep understanding of various communication technologies and the ability to design, implement, and manage Microsoft Teams environments effectively. The specialist will be responsible for configuring, customizing, and integrating Microsoft Teams with other systems to ensure a seamless communication experience across the organization. In addition to managing Microsoft Teams, the specialist will provide technical expertise and support for other communication services, including Skype for Business, Jabber, Cisco CMS, Video Teleconferencing (VTC), and Oracle Session Border Controllers (SBCs). The role involves ensuring intercommunication between various platforms and services, which is critical for maintaining operational efficiency. Collaboration with IT teams and stakeholders is essential to gather requirements, define project scopes, and deliver solutions that align with business needs. The specialist will conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting to ensure the reliability and performance of unified communications systems. Documentation is also a key aspect of this role, as the specialist will develop and maintain system configurations, processes, and procedures. Training end-users on the effective use of unified communications tools and platforms is another important responsibility. The specialist will monitor system performance, analyze trends, and implement necessary optimizations and upgrades.
