About the position

The System Engineer 5 position at Nightwing involves applying systems engineering principles throughout the entire systems life cycle, including concept, development, production, utilization, support, and retirement. The role requires interaction with customers and program personnel to ensure technical integrity and quality of work. The engineer will perform systems engineering activities, analyze technical alternatives, and make recommendations for project design.

Responsibilities

• Apply systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle phases.
• Interact with customers regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and associated problems.
• Communicate with program personnel, customer overseers, and senior executives.
• Ensure technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed.
• Perform systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of work products in Technical Process Areas.
• Analyze technical alternatives for projects and make preliminary recommendations.
• Independently analyze and recommend alternatives for elements of project technical design.

Requirements

• Typically requires fifteen (15) years of systems engineering experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science, or related discipline.
• Experience with Stakeholder Requirements Definition, Requirements Analysis, Architectural Design, Implementation, Integration, Verification, Transition, Validation, Operation, Maintenance, and Disposal Control, Decision Management, Risk Management, Configuration.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance is required prior to start date.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
