About the position

The System Engineer position at INSPYR Solutions involves defining, designing, and developing system requirements while coordinating the design of subsystems and the integration of the total system. The role requires analyzing and resolving program support deficiencies and conducting independent technical investigations in systems design. The engineer will perform engineering studies and analyze system problems to support the development of system implementation solutions. In this role, the engineer will spend approximately 50% of their time installing, tuning, upgrading, troubleshooting, and maintaining all computer systems relevant to the supported applications. This includes performing operating system administration, user account management, disaster recovery strategy, and networking configuration. Another 20% of the time will be dedicated to automating the installation and configuration of applications in both development and production environments. The engineer will also develop and implement techniques to prevent system problems, troubleshoot incidents to recover services, and support root cause analysis, which will take up about 15% of their time. Additionally, 10% of the role involves improving engineering job knowledge through educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies. Finally, 5% of the time will be spent evaluating new systems through in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, and researching software and related products to support recommendations and purchasing decisions.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
  • 3 years of experience in software, hardware, and/or systems engineering.
  • In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required.
