About the position

As a Systems Engineer in the Data Center Procurement Governance (DCPG) team at AWS, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining core systems and tools infrastructure that supports Data Center Procurement customers. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, evaluate emerging technologies, and engineer solutions that meet high standards for performance, security, and reliability. You will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of mission-critical IT systems, enabling procurement operations to function effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain the health and performance of systems, including software updates, patches, and upgrades.
  • Manage user access, permissions, and authentication, along with troubleshooting issues.
  • Develop and maintain automated scripts and workflows to streamline repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Liaise with IT service providers to ensure optimal performance and alignment with business requirements, managing contracts, SLAs, and procurement processes.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation on system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures, sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users to ensure efficient and high user adoption of IT systems.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of technical support experience.
  • Proficient troubleshooting and anticipating problems that affect the performance, reliability, or availability of software systems.
  • Proficient in executing standard operating procedures and following operational best practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working cross-organizationally and leading strategic team efforts requiring collaboration from multiple team members.
  • Experience with SQL, Tableau, and Salesforce.
  • Experience scripting in modern programming languages.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
