About the position

As a System Engineer I at Oracle, you will play a crucial role in the implementation, support, monitoring, and maintenance of Oracle's solutions and services. This position requires you to perform daily system operations tasks to ensure system integrity and availability. You will manage changes and project activities while effectively communicating with impacted stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include supporting the installation and maintenance of Oracle solutions, layered software, and infrastructure. Additionally, you will evaluate, update, and improve project documentation to ensure accuracy and relevance. In this role, you will also be tasked with developing and deploying automation tools to optimize daily activities. You will provide Tier II support and respond to service requests, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. Your work will involve managing all aspects of Azure and Entra, as well as Windows Server, Linux, and VMware administration. This includes server builds, troubleshooting, maintenance, and support. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools. Moreover, you will write and maintain custom scripts to enhance system efficiency and reduce the need for human intervention in routine tasks. Participation in System Engineering processes is essential, as you will aid in continuous integration, delivery, and deployment. Implementing and maintaining strategies for backup, security, and redundancy will also be part of your duties. You will adopt, implement, and document repeatable change processes and best practices. The role may require you to be on-call and available to monitor requests after hours and on weekends, ensuring that you are responsive to any urgent needs that arise.

Responsibilities

  • Provide system implementation, support, monitoring, and maintenance of Oracle's solutions and services.
  • Perform daily system operations tasks to verify system integrity and availability.
  • Manage changes and project activities while communicating with impacted stakeholders.
  • Support the installation and maintenance of Oracle solutions, layered software, and infrastructure.
  • Evaluate, update, and improve project documentation.
  • Develop and deploy automation tools to optimize daily activities.
  • Provide Tier II support per service requests.
  • Manage all aspects of Azure and Entra, Windows Server, Linux, and VMware administration.
  • Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower human intervention time on tasks.
  • Participate in System Engineering processes, aiding in continuous integration, delivery, and deployment.
  • Implement and maintain strategies for backup, security, and redundancy.

Requirements

  • Experience with O365 and Cloud Mail implementation and management.
  • Experience with administration and maintaining all aspects of Azure and Entra.
  • Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Citrix).
  • Experience with monitoring systems.
  • Experience with automation software (e.g., ManageEngine).
  • Experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks.
  • Familiarity with I/O technologies such as Networking (Ethernet), Storage (SAS, SATA, FC), from both a hardware and OS/driver debug perspective.
  • Excellent teamwork, time-management, and organizational skills.
  • Intermediate PowerShell skills are required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with additional cloud services and technologies.

  • Familiarity with scripting languages beyond PowerShell.
