About the position

The System Engineer position is designed for experienced professionals in managed service provider (MSP) environments who are eager to tackle diverse technical challenges and drive client success. This role involves mentoring team members, managing complex IT projects, and ensuring client satisfaction through effective communication and technical expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Take the initiative to address client needs and project challenges.
  • Maintain discipline and order in project management.
  • Architect IT strategies that align with business goals.
  • Manage client crises effectively and efficiently.
  • Scope, define, build, and conquer projects as a master planner.
  • Communicate technical concepts fluently to executives, clients, and team members.
  • Monitor, tune, upgrade, and troubleshoot multi-location networks.
  • Champion client satisfaction as the ultimate goal.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a managed service provider (MSP) environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including InTune and AutoPilot.
  • Experience with Azure, including AD/Hybrid AD, servers, storage, and networking.
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery solutions such as Azure, Datto, and Veeam.
  • Familiarity with firewalls from SonicWall, Fortinet, and Cisco.
  • Experience with network gear including switches, routers, and wireless systems.
  • Proficiency in virtualization technologies like VMWare and Hyper-V.
  • Experience with cloud services, particularly Azure, with AWS/GCP as a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2016-2022, including AD, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Experience with Microsoft Management Console (MMC) and PowerShell scripting.
  • Familiarity with endpoint operating systems including Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android.
  • Experience with VoIP systems and cybersecurity tools such as EDR, XDR, SASE, and ZTNA.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications such as Network+, Security+, SQL, MCSE, and Azure Solutions Architect.
  • Experience with compliance standards like HIPAA, CMMC, and HITRUST.
