About the position

The Systems Engineer, SME at Apogee Engineering will support the US Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) NC3 Enterprise Center (NEC) in Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I). This role involves assessing technological capabilities, conducting mission engineering studies, and providing subject matter expertise in communication systems to enhance NC3 operations.

Responsibilities

• Assess and identify opportunities and technological capabilities across the NC3 Enterprise.
• Interface with industry, DoD mission partners, and academia to provide recommendations for the NEC SE&I.
• Conduct mission engineering studies to guide decisions focused on the end-to-end mission.
• Provide high-level communication systems subject matter expertise, including terrestrial and satellite communication systems.
• Prepare technical reports, studies, and related documentation to apply engineering and threat impact assessments.
• Assess new technologies and innovations to develop technical recommendations for NC3 requirements.
• Provide NC3 communication system technical expertise regarding signal propagation, modeling and simulation, test and design.

Requirements

• Must have and be able to maintain a Top Secret w/ SCI Eligibility.
• Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical field.
• 10+ years' relevant experience providing RF technical expertise, systems and design analysis, and implementation and integration.
• Ability to work well within a team and to execute tasks independently.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong command of MS Office suite tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience regarding NC3 requirements, operations, and procedures.
• Proven ability to prepare NC3 analysis, documentation, and reports.
• Ability to apply principles, methods, and knowledge of NC3 systems.
