ASML is a leading manufacturer of lithography systems that play a crucial role in advancing technology and enabling the creation of powerful electronic devices. Located in San Diego, CA, we specialize in developing both deep ultraviolet (DUV) and next-generation extreme ultraviolet (EUV) light sources. We are a multinational company with over 70 locations across 16 countries, headquartered in Veldhoven, the Netherlands. We are seeking a Functional Engineer (Semiconductor Equipment) to support the development and implementation of solutions aimed at managing undesired Tin debris generated by our laser-produced plasma EUV source. This role is essential in ensuring that design concepts are effectively developed to address these challenges and deliver robust product solutions. As a Functional Engineer, you will collaborate with a team of highly skilled engineers and scientists from diverse academic backgrounds. Your primary responsibility will be to provide technical input and support to the team, ensuring successful validation and implementation of features on the product. This position requires access to controlled technology, and candidates must be legally authorized to access such technology prior to starting work. Business demands may necessitate proceeding with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology. In this role, you will integrate Tin Management system modules and components, develop documentation, execute tests and inspections, support deployment, and provide technical support for EUV systems both domestically and internationally. You will troubleshoot complex multidisciplinary issues and support a cross-functional team in the design and development of modules to meet performance, operation, serviceability, and cost-of-ownership requirements. Your contributions will also include providing design and procedure support in continuous product improvement efforts, participating in system-level design reviews, and assisting with research and development prototype builds, testing, and evaluation efforts.
