About the position

As a System Integration EPM for the Apple Vision Pro, you will play a pivotal role in the development of a revolutionary spatial computer that integrates digital content with the physical world. This position requires a highly technical individual who can drive product definition, system engineering, and integration/validation for a new product category. You will collaborate closely with various teams, including system engineering, electrical, mechanical, algorithm, and software teams, to define and develop optimized hardware products. Your responsibilities will include driving the cross-functional development of requirements and validation plans at the product, system, and module levels, based on experience targets and technology constraints. You will also be tasked with identifying critical questions and organizing teams to efficiently find answers, ensuring that technical decisions align with customer experience and effectively communicating impacts to stakeholders. In this role, you will be responsible for resolving architectural and integration gaps to inform subsequent engineering builds. Your ability to navigate complex programs through the entire development process will be essential, as will your experience with various key hardware enablers such as displays, cameras, sensors, and wearables. The ideal candidate will have a strong product and customer focus, with the capability to distill trade-offs into key factors that drive critical product decisions. Responsibilities

  • Drive the cross-functional development of requirements and validation plans at product, system, and module levels.
  • Identify critical questions and organize teams to find efficient solutions.
  • Communicate the impacts of technical decisions on customer experience clearly and concisely.
  • Resolve architectural and integration gaps to inform subsequent engineering builds.

Requirements

  • Understanding of consumer electronics system architectures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work through system-level development tradeoffs.
  • Developed skills for planning and executing development in advanced consumer electronics products.
  • Strong technical background in Electrical, Mechanical, or Software Engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant hardware engineering experience in consumer electronics.
  • 3+ years of project management experience managing cross-functional teams across various program stages.
  • Proactive and highly self-motivated with good critical thinking capabilities and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate well in an environment with rapid development cycles and constant change.
  • Willingness to travel internationally to support development builds.
  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with camera systems, display and optics technologies, and/or wearable consumer electronics.
  • Experience driving a highly diverse set of cross-functional team members and perspectives to yield the best product solution.
  • Experience as the primary point of contact with vendors and contract manufacturers to establish daily build plans and provide clear direction.
