The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in electronics engineering and will be responsible for managing the execution of the hardware design and integration process in the lab. This includes overseeing workflow, assigning duties, ensuring compliance with product and lab best practices, and integrating operational hardware and software platforms into a larger test environment. The role requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, including contractors and government employees. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential as the candidate will be working on-site with the customer at GVSC. The initial tasking will involve supporting the ground vehicle program Bradley FV in a GVSC System Integration Lab (SIL). The candidate will be expected to debug issues with existing code bases, develop automated testing processes, and support toolsets. The ideal candidate will have direct experience with Electronic Control Systems, a broad understanding of Electronics and Digital Communication Buses (such as RS422, MIL-STD-1553, CAN, Ethernet), and proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Solidworks. Experience in designing embedded systems/software, including PCB and firmware, is also required. Familiarity with electrical/electronics laboratory equipment and product development is essential, while experience with VHDL and/or Xilinx FPGA is considered a plus. Candidates should also have an interest or experience in team-based hardware and software development, configuration management tools, hardware interface testing, and oversight of the hardware design process. Previous experience in re-engineering, testing and evaluation (T&E), or related experience with DoD ground and weapon platforms is advantageous. A B.S. or greater in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline is required, with relevant graduate degrees preferred. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and able to obtain a final secret security clearance to access classified information. The position is full-time, with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, and requires minimal travel (0-10%).
