About the position

The Systems Integration and Test Engineering Associate Manager position at Lockheed Martin Space is a pivotal role within the Fleet Ballistic Missiles (FBM) program, specifically within the Life Extension 2 team. This team is dedicated to supporting the development of the Next Generation System by innovating concepts, researching, and maturing technologies essential for the advancement of the FBM Missile System. The FBM program is currently experiencing significant growth, necessitating the expertise of a qualified individual to help deliver cutting-edge technologies to our customers while ensuring compliance with the technical requirements of strategic deterrence. The position is based in Sunnyvale, CA, where the FBM Missile Integration Lab (MIL) is located. This unique electrical test lab is crucial for conducting missile system electrical and functional testing. As the Associate Manager, you will oversee the daily operations and maintenance of the MIL, leading a team of approximately 3-4 employees. Your responsibilities will include supporting test planning and execution activities, managing test product readiness, and providing day-to-day direction to your test team. You will also be responsible for generating detailed timeline planning and technical guidance for test execution, conducting performance reviews, and participating in hiring and job placement for personnel. Additionally, you will assist in GSE and Operations CAM duties and play a key role in mentoring your team, ensuring they are recognized and rewarded for their contributions. This role requires a proactive approach to leadership, as you will be expected to navigate a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements and dynamic schedules. Your ability to communicate effectively with customers and senior program management will be essential in driving the success of the team and the program as a whole.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operation and maintenance of the FBM Missile Integration Lab (MIL).
  • Support test planning and execution activities.
  • Manage test product readiness including procedures, plans, and scripts.
  • Provide day-to-day direction to the test team.
  • Generate detailed timeline planning and technical guidance for test execution.
  • Conduct performance reviews and participate in hiring and job placement for personnel.
  • Assist in GSE and Operations CAM duties.
  • Mentor team members and ensure recognition and rewards for their contributions.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering/Aerospace Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college.
  • Experience in electrical testing, including development of detailed test plans, procedures, and/or scripts.
  • Must have an Active Top Secret security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Full Spectrum Leadership capability with strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements and dynamic schedules with minimal direct oversight.
  • Familiar with Automation Framework.
  • Experience with spacecraft/GSE hardware integration, testing, and anomaly resolution.
  • Experience with Test and Measurement equipment and methods.
  • Demonstrated experience working and collaborating with Government customers.
  • Willing to work overtime supporting off shifts and weekends in a 24/7 operations environment.
