About the position

Join the Wireless Technologies and Ecosystems (WTE) Engineering team at Apple as a Baseband System Integration Engineer. This role focuses on driving quality and performance improvements in cellular baseband products, crafting efficient development and testing infrastructure, and working hands-on in a collaborative environment. You will be involved in all phases of the cellular integration process, impacting the user experience for millions of customers. The position requires a strong technical background in software, hardware, and testing environments, along with a passion for performance and automation.

Responsibilities

  • Drive quality and performance improvements in cellular baseband products.
  • Craft efficient, robust, and scalable development/testing infrastructure and tools.
  • Research, develop, and pursue issues in collaboration with teams of developers and test engineers.
  • Track and communicate work related to release readiness and identify gaps.
  • Assess new and innovative ways to improve product quality and performance.
  • Evangelize performance and architecture best practices throughout the engineering team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 5+ years of hands-on experience in system integration test deployment and execution.
  • Domain expertise in cellular baseband development and testing.
  • Experience in setting up and managing test systems for end-to-end cellular functionality (2G/3G/4G/5G).
  • Experience in planning and setting up complex production lab environments for automation.
  • Familiarity with operating test equipment (CMW500, Anritsu, Keysight).
  • Strong teamwork, detail-oriented, and good communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Domain knowledge of cellular network operations and interactions.
  • Strong scripting experience (Python preferred, Perl, Shell).
  • Experience with Git, Gerrit, and Jenkins job configurations.
  • Knowledge of installing automation tools on Mac-based hosts.
  • Experience in system test automation execution and issue isolation.
