About the position

The System Maintenance Facilities Director at Crothall Healthcare is responsible for overseeing all central plant operations and maintenance activities within a healthcare environment. This role involves planning, organizing, and controlling functions related to central plant services, ensuring technical oversight of maintenance and repair projects, and developing investment strategies for critical infrastructure assets.

Responsibilities

  • Assess critical infrastructure throughout a health system and prioritize assets needing investment.
  • Develop investment strategy across the mechanical portfolio within a health system.
  • Determine allocation strategy for these critical assets.
  • Review and evaluate existing preventative maintenance program and provide completion metrics to leadership.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of PM programs, PM procedures, and update tasks as appropriate.
  • Monitor flow and quality of work to assure timely completion of workload and adherence to facility's standards and regulations.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor construction and development of physical facilities related to the central plant & HVAC infrastructure throughout the health system.
  • Review, evaluate, and recommend approval of plans for construction related to the central plant infrastructure & HVAC infrastructure throughout the health system.
  • Coordinate with engineers to provide facility input during design reviews and engineering assessments.
  • Advise on structural changes and additions and/or modifications to buildings related to the central plant infrastructure & HVAC infrastructure throughout the health system.
  • Interview independent contractors to receive and analyze bids, including blueprint analysis of proposed changes related to the central plant infrastructure.
  • Maintain visibility of the system's Building Automation System to verify equipment performance and assist O&M teams with troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years responsibility in central plant & HVAC operations.
  • Work history with planning, organizing, coordinating, and/or communicating programs, services, policies and/or procedures within the central plant.
  • Proficiency in CMMS Systems, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Building Automation System experience is preferred.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and make sound decisions, sometimes under stress.
  • Good physical condition and ability to operate departmental equipment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in healthcare facilities management.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance in healthcare environments.
