About the position

The System Plant Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, organization, and supervision of plant operations and facility maintenance at Watauga Medical Center. This role ensures that all physical structures, HVAC systems, utilities, and grounds are safe and efficient. The manager will coordinate with vendors, manage maintenance contracts, and lead continuous improvement efforts while promoting safety and effective communication across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning, organization, and supervision of plant operations and facility maintenance.
• Ensure safety and efficiency of physical structures, HVAC systems, utilities, and grounds.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for maintenance and operations.
• Manage maintenance contracts and lead continuous improvement efforts.
• Provide guidance to team members across all shifts and conduct annual performance evaluations.
• Recruit and hire qualified candidates for plant operations roles.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, visitors, and staff to promote a healthy work environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare management or engineering preferred.
• 3 years of progressively responsible experience in plant operations required.
• 5 years of experience in plant operations required.
• 1 year of prior experience in a similar role preferred.
• Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with the public, patients, family, staff, and physicians.

• Experience in healthcare facility management.
