About the position

The Systems Process Engineer (SPE) role at Genentech focuses on providing expert support and continuous improvement for IT and Automation Technology applications in the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector. The SPE will act as a liaison between end-users and various support teams, ensuring effective communication and resolution of issues while also leading initiatives for process enhancements. This position is critical in supporting the digital transformation efforts within the organization, aimed at improving operational efficiency and competitiveness in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Perform 24x7 Level 1 On Site/Remote support and troubleshooting of applications, primarily focused on SAP R3 and ASPIRE S4/EWM.
  • Act as Point of Contact for End User/business stakeholders regarding business requests and IT-related issues.
  • Escalate issues to Level 2 and/or Global Team Support, clarifying issues upon request and following up on tickets for timely resolution.
  • Proactively monitor system interfaces, analyze events with interface partners, and perform troubleshooting as needed.
  • Support site audits and inspections, planned/unplanned events, and implementation of corrections as a Subject Matter Expert.
  • Support/lead continuous improvement opportunities related to IT OT applications/systems.
  • Regularly exchange with the network and BPMs on support cases, best practices, and process improvement proposals.
  • Help End Users submit new ideas for process improvements, assessing process interdependencies and impacts on underlying systems.
  • Coordinate and conduct End User training and support user authorization workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Informatics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field.
  • 7+ years of experience with SAP R3; familiarity with SAP HANA is a plus.
  • Experience in biotech/pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Knowledgeable about integration with enterprise business systems (SAP, MES, LIMS, etc.) and data integrity concepts.
  • Strong analytical skills for effective troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Excellent customer service skills with an agile mindset.
