About the position

The SCADA Developer at Critical Technologies is responsible for developing resources for Ignition Perspective and Vision applications. This role involves collaborating with business stakeholders to define project scopes, developing proprietary software tools, and implementing Ignition solutions across various industrial applications. The position requires travel to customer sites for project requirements and support, and it offers opportunities for leadership and guidance to junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Work with customer business stakeholders to define the scope and requirements of the Ignition solution based on identified process improvement scenarios.
• Develop proprietary software tools for product development, commissioning, and research and development.
• Develop the Ignition solution, including industrial and HVAC applications, system networks, user interfaces, report creation, alarm configuration, and interaction with SQL data sources.
• Test, deploy, and provide application support for developed solutions.
• Provide guidance and leadership to less experienced team members.

Requirements

• Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA, Core Certification (Gold Certification a plus).
• Experience integrating Ignition with PLCs, Modbus, and Bacnet for control and reporting.
• Experience in Python development, including Ignition's Expression Language.
• Understanding of BAS controls and Process Plant controls in different environments.
• Ability to independently initiate and execute Ignition projects, ensuring successful client delivery.
• Ability to read electrical, process control drawings, and P&IDs.
• Functional understanding of mechanical systems.
• Good understanding of SQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, Microsoft SQL Server, or MariaDB.
• Good understanding of IT networks, including controller communication protocols and Gateway networking.
