About the position

The Systems Engineer role at GE Vernova focuses on the design, creation, and optimization of systems related to HVDC technologies and renewable energy. This position involves technical responsibility, customer interaction, and the development of engineering processes and tools. The engineer will be involved in modeling, performing studies, and delivering reports while ensuring adherence to health and safety standards. The role requires collaboration with peers and external representation of the business at industry events.

Responsibilities

• Model and perform studies; deliver study reports.
• Provide technical guidance to peers in areas of expertise.
• Engage in customer-facing responsibilities.
• Develop and industrialize solution tools and processes associated with engineering activities.
• Actively participate in new developments in HVDC technologies and implement control and protection solutions.
• Represent the business in external events by publishing technical papers or participating in working groups.
• Adhere to company policies and the Code of Conduct.
• Consider health and safety preventions and attend EHS training.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in network or transient studies for HVDC/FACTS/Renewable Energy/Inverter based Power Systems.
• Willingness to travel 20% including international travel.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in electrical engineering with a focus on power systems and power electronics.
• Knowledge of system tools such as SIMULINK MATLAB, DSAT.
• Experience with RAM Studies.
• Professional Engineering license.
