About the position

The System Studies Lead Engineer at GE Vernova is responsible for executing and optimizing systems engineering processes, focusing on delivering quality products that meet customer needs. This role involves modeling and performing studies, providing technical guidance, and developing engineering tools and processes. The engineer will also represent the business in external events and ensure adherence to health and safety standards while contributing to the advancement of HVDC technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Model and perform studies; deliver study reports.
  • Provide technical responsibility in areas of expertise.
  • Guide peers on areas of expertise.
  • Engage in customer-facing responsibilities.
  • Develop and industrialize solution tools and processes associated with engineering activities.
  • Actively participate in new developments in HVDC technologies and implement control and protection solutions.
  • Represent the business in external events by publishing technical papers or participating in working groups.
  • Adhere to company policies and Code of Conduct.
  • Consider health and safety preventions and attend EHS training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in network or transient studies for HVDC/FACTS/Renewable Energy/Inverter based Power Systems.
  • Willingness to travel 20% including international travel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering with a focus on power systems and power electronics.
  • Knowledge of system tools such as SIMULINK MATLAB, DSAT.
  • Experience with RAM Studies.
  • Professional Engineering license.
