As our System Test Engineer, you will be responsible for testing software and hardware systems, both individually and as a system, along with related accessories. This role collaborates closely with developers, project managers, product managers, requirements engineers, and testers to ensure products meet user requirements and are properly tested according to current best practices. Guided by the product requirements, this position is also responsible for reporting issues and providing input to software and hardware teams based on testing results and performing cross-platform testing. Familiarity with hardware and software systems is essential for this position and you must be able to adopt and execute the concept of design of experiences (DoEs), objectively communicate issues, and suggest potential solutions clearly. Additional responsibilities will include working with hardware and software teams to improve system functionality, software robustness, and usability. You will design, develop, and maintain software test cases for software products and generate test artifacts. Conducting various types of testing, such as smoke testing, regression testing, and performance testing, will be crucial to ensure products meet design and behavioral expectations. You will also perform verification tests for instrument products and accessories, report bugs generated by testing activities in a manner consistent with current practices, and perform systems testing and troubleshooting to assist in identifying and solving product issues. Validating fixes to ensure effectiveness of corrective measures and avoiding the introduction of new bugs will be part of your duties. Additionally, you will provide recommendations for changes to existing test cases to improve breadth and depth of testing and update test cases to provide future testing coverage of customer-reported problems. Finally, managing and maintaining test tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition for testing and development activities will be essential.
