About the position

The Vice President of Revenue Operations - Front End at UNC Health is responsible for overseeing the patient-facing aspects of the revenue cycle. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to enhance front-end performance, drive quality outcomes, and improve consumer experience. The VP will lead various operations including scheduling, financial clearance, and patient registration, while ensuring compliance and health equity. The position requires strong leadership to foster teamwork and engagement, as well as the ability to drive organizational change and achieve results.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for owned and contracted managed entity services related to the front-end revenue cycle.
  • Develop and implement innovative strategies to enhance front-end performance and consumer experience.
  • Oversee inpatient and ambulatory scheduling, financial clearance, and front-end operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement and optimization of the Epic platform.
  • Maximize revenue capture while enhancing patient experience and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Lead and develop teams towards achieving organizational goals and fostering an inclusive workplace.
  • Act as a catalyst for organizational change and influence others to translate vision into action.
  • Make decisions that produce high-quality results and hold self and others accountable for outcomes.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in healthcare administration, finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Twelve years of progressively responsible revenue operations experience, including ten years of people management experience.
  • Deep understanding of the healthcare revenue cycle, including patient registration, insurance verification, billing, coding, collections, and payer reimbursement processes.
  • Knowledge of value-based care initiatives and risk-sharing agreements.
  • Skills in developing financial models and revenue forecasting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with contract negotiation with payers and vendors.
